What do our clients say about Janette?

“I first met and instructed Ms Johnston in 2007 to advise and support me through a divorce and associated children’s matters. This should have been a relatively simple process given our particular circumstances, but unfortunately decree absolute was obtained as late as 2011, with conclusion of the settlement of finances taking a further couple of years. During this period my ex-wife engaged and dismissed two different law firms before briefly representing herself, and finally instructing a third solicitor. I valued Ms Johnston’s patience, ability to listen and her calm and considered approach in what was the most challenging and prolonged circumstances for me.

I also had cause to consult her last year, but this time in respect of a civil litigation matter. Again, she used her calm, considered approach, and feel that I was given a clear explanation of my legal position, and given good advice. I have no hesitation in recommending her to act for anyone, given similar circumstances.”

“I would have no hesitation recommending Janette and everyone at A City Law Firm.

From the very first emails I sent concerning divorce and child maintenance, she was kind, helpful and informed, and demystified a confusing process every step of the way. At such a time of heightened emotion, when discussing sensitive and personal information, it was unbelievably reassuring to know that I could contact Janette with any questions and receive a prompt, calm and careful reply. I felt that I could ask her anything and could clarify everything I needed to, as many times as I needed to. It was also brilliant to have somebody on my side during more difficult conversations and negotiations – Janette helped me to navigate something very hard, and make it as straightforward, kind and mutually respectful as possible. Lastly, Janette walked me through the practical side of applying for an online divorce, and provided fair and accurate estimates of the costs of the whole process, including using the new online portal. All the communication with her colleagues at A City Law Firm was equally considerate and prompt, and made the business of administering a divorce much easier. Many thanks to Janette and the whole team. – Anonymous
